October 1, 2005 COLLINSVILLE BOY GETS A SPECIAL BUS THANKS TO MAKE A WISH

A Green Country boy has had his dream come true. Bill is 12-years old and autistic. He also has some other medical conditions. He asked the Make-A-Wish Foundation for a "clubhouse bus".

The bus was secretly delivered to Bill's Collinsville home for the final touches. Dozens of his friends and family showed up to see the surprise on his face. News on 6 reporter Omar Villafranca has the story on all the work put into making this little boy's dream come true.

Believe it or not, this junked out bus is a little boy's dream.

The Make-A-Wish foundation received the request from Bill in Collinsville. He wanted a clubhouse with a round table, a couch, a Playstation and an atomic clock. And he wanted it all inside a bus.

Bill’s mom Cindi Campbell: "He has been begging for a bus since my parents, his grandparents have one they turned into a workshop." The bus is old and needed some body work, but a little elbow grease turned this nightmare into a real life dream. The Make-A-Wish Foundation found the bus and the folks at FOX Collision in Tulsa decided to help out.

After gutting it, cleaning the bus little by little, they added the finishing touches. New rims and tires, fresh paint and then the cool stuff. A fancy place to sit and video games to play on the bus. And the bus won't be hot; it's got an air-conditioner that'll freeze you.

And just in case he didn't get his bus, Bill had another dream ready to go. Cindi Campbell: "Well his back up wish was Vegas. He said if I can't have the bus I want to go to Vegas and eat all the food and shop at all the stores."

Goes to show you dream big and anything can happen.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation says this was one of the oddest requests they've ever received. They're thankful local businesses pulled together to make it happen.

Here's an interesting note, Bill knew exactly what he wanted, down to the atomic clock. He even drew up plans just in case he got his wish.

August 1, 2005 KANSAS CITY WELCOMES FOX COLLISION

August 1, 2005-- Kansas City is excited to announce the opening of its newest and one-of-a-kind, State-of-the-Art collision repair facility at the corner of Antioch and I-35.

This is FOX Collision’s ninth body shop. Owned and operated by Kansas native Todd Fox, an industry veteran with over 20 years experience in collision repair. Todd Fox began his collision repair business in Wichita and operated four facilities before moving onto Tulsa, Oklahoma in spring of 2001. After just a few short months, FOX quickly became Tulsa’s premier Collision Center.

This 58,000 sq. ft. facility on Antioch, renovated from the old Darling Envelope Factory, is also an original in the industry. Not only does it promise to have the amenities of its predecessors, but also a few exclusive to this shop. While the Reception area will feature the Coffee & Snack Bar and Plasma Screen TV, it will also be fully equipped with an Internet Café, for those customers who need to stay connected.

One unique feature about this facility is that is showcases one of the largest tensile structures in the Central US, built by Tayo BirdAir, the same company responsible for the roof structure at the Denver Int’l Airport. Towering 45 feet over the building, this structure provides 4,000 sq. ft. of undercover space where customers can comfortably receive their estimates, drop off and pick up their cars - even in the most inclement weather.

This facility is outfitted with State-of-the-Art equipment and is also home to Auto Glass by FOX - FOX’s auto glass repair shop. FOX has even developed a “Fast Lane,” where smaller fixes, like bumper repairs and side mirror replacements, can be expedited. FOX works on all makes and models and with all insurance companies, and promises competitive rates for self-pay repairs.
